Sign Regulations

Sign regulations vary based on sign form, sign function or purpose, and sign location (zone). Definitions related to signs are found in Part 9, Division 1 [PDF - 187 KB] of the Kitimat Municipal Code. See definitions which run from "Sign" to "Sign, Window". Billboards and roof signs are not permitted. Sign regulations are found in Part 9, Division 3 [PDF - 154 KB] of the Kitimat Municipal Code.

Signs for a community cause or festivity, charitable fundraising or electioneering are permitted on public land. Advance approval and a damage deposit are required. Please print, complete and submit the request form [PDF - 81 KB] to the Reception Desk (270 City Centre) during business hours.
