Apply for a Municipal Grant

Grant Writing Assistance Program

The District of Kitimat forged a new partnership in July 2010 to help secure grant funding for a wide range of community projects and programs.  The Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDI) provided the municipality with assistance to fund a grant writer.  Mr. Fred Wilson is now available to help local non-profit groups and the District of Kitimat  to identify potential sources of funding for projects and programs, to complete funding applications and to monitor these applications through to completion.  To learn more about the program and how to apply for assistance, please see Press Release [PDF - 30 KB], or contact the Kitimat Child Development Centre at 250-632-3144.

Community Grant and Sponsorship Program

Council awards grants to various non-profit community groups that require financial assistance. The intention of municipal grants is to financially supplement the activities of community based organizations that promote youth activities, new economic incentives, tourism, athletic events, arts, culture, community spirit and improved quality of life for Kitimat residents.
