Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities

The Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities is a volunteer panel that is advisory to Council providing recommendations and input on matters that affect persons with disabilities such as:  access to services and programs, matters restricting mobility and travel and barriers to participation.

The commission has five members:  four residents of the municipality plus an appointed member of Council. Members serve at the pleasure of Kitimat Council.  A term is normally two years, starting in April.  A member may serve up to two consecutive two-year terms, and is eligible for a reappointment after an absence of twelve months.

Are you interested in serving on the Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities?  Kitimat Council will advertise opportunities each spring.  Please contact the Administration Department at 250-632-8900 or dok@kitimat.ca to inquire further.
