The Office of the Municipal Clerk performs statutory and administrative functions for the District of Kitimat. This is often the link between the citizens and the municipality.

The Office of the Municipal Clerk is responsible for the following:

  • Preparing and preserving agendas, minutes, bylaws, and legal documents
  • Managing corporate records
  • Conducting local government elections and referendums
  • Freedom of information and Protection of Privacy Act requests and compliance
  • Personnel and labour relations
  • Employment enquiries and issues
  • Animal control contracts
  • Transit contracts
