Purchasing

The District of Kitimat Finance Department administers and maintains some 370 square metres (4,000 square feet) of inside stores and an operating inventory of $325,000.  Some 2,500 to 4,000 purchase orders are processed each year, totalling $3.2 million – $5 million.

The purchasing function is performed by a staff of five:  Purchasing Manager, Assistant Purchaser, Purchasing Clerk and two Stores Attendants.

Tenders

Disposal of Assets and Recovered Items

The District of Kitimat disposes assets and recovered items.  These items are auctioned off on the BC Government's auction website

The Asset Investment Recovery Service Branch of Shared Services BC conducts various sales around the province from all levels of government.  It's the BC Government's own real time online auction.  Registration is free and anyone with a valid email address can register and start bidding from any computer.  All online payments are handled through the BC Government server and are completely secure.  You're only a click away from owning surplus government assets!
