Rescue
Rescue services in Kitimat are delivered by the District Fire & Rescue Services Department. Kitimat firefighters train to the NFPA standards and WCB regulations for confined space, auto extrication, rapid intervention team, and high angle rescue. These skills are used in Industry, the District of Kitimat and public emergency situations.
Rescue teams are also utilized at specific District of Kitimat and Industry projects. Past examples include: the pool retrofit, bridge maintenance, and Methanex tank repairs.
