KidSport
KidSport™ was founded in 1993 in Vancouver, BC. The organization's main goal was and still is to provide opportunity for kids to play sports who otherwise could not afford to do so. KidSport™ Canada was incorporated in 2005 and now has provincial chapters across the country. In 2009 KidSport™ Canada helped 60,000 kids take part in a sport of their choice. KidSport™ Kitimat is one of the 38 chapters in BC.
Establishing KidSport™ Kitimat has meant that all funds raised locally now stay in Kitimat and give our friend's and neighbour's children opportunities to play sport. KidSport™ Kitimat would like to raise enough money over time to make the fund self-supporting year after year. To-date KidSport™ Kitimat BC has granted upwards of $1,500 annually to support youth in Kitimat.
Mission Statement
We believe no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. KidSport™ Kitimat provides support to children in order to remove the financial barriers that prevent individuals from playing an organized sport.

About Us
KidSport™ Kitimat is a not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for sport registration to kids aged 18 and under. Our primary goal is to support local youth who financially would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in sport.
Application Information
Applications must be received before or during the requested sport season. The sport must be taught by a qualified coach and affiliated with Sport BC. Camps, equipment and travel are not eligible expenses. Preference will be given to athletes who are being introduced to organized sport.
