Public Transportation

There are three public transportation services available to residents of Kitimat.

Kitimat Transit

Kitimat Transit offers conventional, fixed-route bus service within the District of Kitimat.  Service is provided seven days a week between City Centre and all three residential neighbourhoods in Kitimat townsite: Whitesail, Nechako and Kildala.  The #3 Kildala route also services the hospital and Riverlodge Recreation Centre.  All local buses are low-floor design and can accommodate wheelchairs, scooters and strollers.  The buses are also equipped with bike racks capable of carrying two bicycles.

Current schedules, fares, and other information can be obtained by visiting the Kitimat Transit website.

taxiDART is convenient door-to-door transportation for people with disabilities.  Any person who, due to a physical or mental disability, is unable to use regular transit is eligible for taxiDART service.

taxiDART users must register with Kitimat Home Support (250-632-4449) before booking their first trip.  There is no fee to register.  Service is available from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm daily.  taxiDART trips can be booked by calling 250-632-7250.
