Campfires and Open Burning Prohibited in Northwest Fire Zone

Due to the elevated fire danger rating of 'Extreme' conditions and forecast of continued hot, dry weather, the Ministry of Forests and Range Northwest Fire Centre has imposed a burn ban on all open fires of any size including open burn fires, industrial burning, campfires, backyard fire pits, tiki torches and burning barrels. -
Open Fire Restrictions

The Northwest Fire Centre imposed an open fire restriction effective at noon on June 25, 2010. Consequently, the Kitimat Fire Department imposed a ban on open burning within municipal boundaries. Further information is provided in the full story. -

Meeting on the 2010 Annual Budget on Monday, April 26th at 7:30 pm in
the Council Chambers, top floor of the Public Safety Building (Fire Hall).
1101 Kingfisher Avenue. Anyone wishing to comment on the 2010 Annual Budget may do so at this meeting.
2010 Budget documents are available for public inspection at the District
of Kitimat, 270 City Centre, Kitimat BC during regular business hours and on the website www.kitimat.ca. The District Office is open 8:30am to noon and 1-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays -
