Snow Removal - Bylaws & Policies

 

Snow Clearing costs in Kitimat can exceed 8% of the Municipal Budget. You can help our work crews complete their tasks as efficiently as possible by complying with these hints and bylaws.

It is the goal of the District of Kitimat to provide timely, efficient and cost-effective winter maintenance, snow removal and ice control on the municipal roads for the safety and benefit of residents and the general motoring public.

The cooperation of citizens is requested to assist us in achieving this goal, particularly in preventing vehicles from interfering with snow clearing operations and by keeping snow cleared from their driveway on their own property.

To facilitate snow removal, on-street parking is prohibited during winter months from October 1 to March 31. Offending vehicles may be towed at any time during snow removal operations.
