2013 Business Recognition Awards

Last month, Advisory Planning Commission (APC) members participated in the annual Business Recognition Tour. The purpose of the tour is to grade commercial and industrial businesses in Kitimat based on a number of categories which are tallied and added up to award outstanding businesses in the community.

For 2013, it was decided that Service Centre and City Centre would have separate categories, each with their own winners. The areas in which businesses were graded were: (1) tidy/neat appearance, (2) building design/finishes, (3) signage, (4) display window, (5) landscaping, (6) refuse storage, (7) visible civic address, (8) overall appearance.

The tour was conducted September 17. The winners are as follows:
