2013 Community Recognition Awards

As part of Kitimat's Canada Day celebrations, Mayor Joanne Monaghan presented 26 individuals with awards recognizing outstanding contributions to the community and excellence in representing Kitimat at provincial competitions. Congratulations to all recipients!

Recognition of Distinction Awards

Eileen Hutson – Talented artist and dedicated volunteer; passionate about promoting the visual and performing arts in Kitimat

Murrie Collings – Many years of community service helping low income residents with income taxes

John McKenzie – Volunteer, referee and coach in minor hockey and soccer

Wendy Kraft – Years of volunteer service; Coy Cup and Aluminum City Telethon

Brian Hashimoto – Dedicated teacher and community volunteer

Jack Oviatt – Community advocate with years of volunteer service; Bull-o-Rama, Rail Jam, Winter Festival

Sue Dobbin – Dedicated teacher, sports advocate and female role model
