Installments of Kitimat Celebrates 60 Years

In continuation of 'Kitimat Celebrates 60 Years' historical stories, the District of Kitimat brings you three new installments.

No. 9: Path to the Top: The Mount Elizabeth Story
Excerpt: "Without a doubt, Mount Elizabeth is one of Kitimat’s most enduring and dangerous icons. It’s snowy slopes have been beckoning adventurers for generations."

No. 10: Kitimat’s Hospital Ski Hill: Downtown Recreation
Excerpt: "In the 1950s and 60s the brand new town of Kitimat had much to be proud of, including a downtown ski hill. Within ten years of starting up Alcan’s aluminum smelter, we had our own town-operated ski facility."

No. 11: Minette Bay Christmas – 1932
Excerpt: "It was with fond memories that Cristel (Braun) Green of Prince Rupert, recalled the Christmas memories of her childhood. Cristel clearly remembered those magical days of 80 years ago."
