Seismic Surveying at Riverlodge fields

Starting today and continuing through June 24, the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) is conducting a shallow seismic reflection survey in Kitimat. The information gathered during the study will help seismologists better understand how earthquake energy behaves as it travels from the bedrock to the earth’s surface.

In addition to several locations along local roadways, the public is advised testing will be done at the Riverlodge baseball fields the morning of Monday, June 22. The surveying will begin at around 6 a.m. and continue for the better part of the morning.
