Applications invited for voluntary service on advisory commissions

Kitimat Council is seeking interested individuals to fill a position on the following advisory commissions:


Advisory Planning Commission – 1 position

Role of the Commission:

Help guide the long-term development of your community

  • Receive input from residents and advice from professional planners
  • Make recommendations  and advise Council on such matters as: community plans; development control; future land use; proposed policies or bylaws respecting residential, commercial, institutional and industrial development; and, various types of development permit applications

 Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities – 1 position

 Role of Commission:

 Receive input from the community

  • Make recommendations and advise Council on matters presently under consideration which affect persons with disabilities
  • To monitor District programs to ensure that the needs of the disabled are being considered
