SAFETY HAZARD - REFLECTIVE WRIST BAND

Those who have received a reflective snap armband as part of the Pedestrian Road Safety initiative (like the one pictured) are asked to please safely discard them as it has come to our attention that the metal band can break through the plastic cover and create a safety hazard. We apologize for any problems that have resulted from their use.

Statistics show almost 1 in 5 people killed in car crashes in B.C. are pedestrians. With the support of ICBC and LNG Canada, the District of Kitimat recently launched a Pedestrian Road Safety initiative emphasizing visibility at night. As part of this initiative, various high visibility items are being made available to the general public. Other reflective materials aside from the wrist bands are still available and the public is encouraged to make use of them.

For more information, please see the Pedestrian Road Safety poster.
