Survey Deadline Extension – Minette Bay West Concept Plan

The District of Kitimat is seeking community input on three concept plan options for the Minette Bay West site. The three options were developed based on community input and site investigation results from Phases 1 and 2.  The options represent different approaches to developing the site, ranging from maximizing environmental protection (Option 1) to maximizing recreation opportunities (Option 3).  Option 2 represents a balance.  The three options and a summary table that compares key features can be viewed on our project web page:  www.kitimat.ca/mbw

On March 13, Kitimat Council approved a motion to extend the duration of the community survey. The survey was originally scheduled to close on March 20. Hard-copy surveys are now due by 1 pm on March 31 and can be dropped off at Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex, Riverlodge Recreation Centre or Municipal Hall; faxed to 250-632-4995; or scanned and e-mailed to dok@kitimat.ca. Deadline for online survey completion is 8 am on April 3. If you haven’t already filled it out, please click here to access the online survey.

On March 13, DOK staff delivered a project update (PowerPoint) presentation and report to Council at a Committee of the Whole Meeting. The intent of the presentation and report was to update Council on the Minette Bay West Concept Planning process.
