Residential Structure Fire - Chinook Avenue

On February 9th at 12:16pm the Kitimat Fire and Ambulance Service responded to a reported structure fire at 24 Chinook Ave.  Upon arrival, crews found a single storey residential structure fully involved with no occupants inside. Fire crews engaged a defensive exterior fire attack, which was later transitioned into an interior fire attack once the fire was knocked down. 

A total of 10 firefighters and 3 Chief Officers with one Ladder truck and a Command Unit responded to the fire and spent a total of 7.5 hours at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. One occupant was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
