SEWER LINE FLUSHING AND CAMERA WORK
August 12, 2020 – The District of Kitimat is currently undergoing sewer line flushing and camera work in the Whitesail, Nechako and City Centre neighborhoods.
Please try to keep your toilets flushed and their lids closed during this time. There is potential that the high pressure flushing could impact the standing water in households. If you smell a sewer odour, it can be eliminated by flushing your toilets and running water in all your drains....

Fire Trucks at the Pool

August 6, 2020 – The Kitimat Fire Department will be at the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre today and tomorrow to support workers entering confined spaces as part of preparing the pool for re-opening. There is no emergency or issues at the pool.
We will provide an update regarding the pool re-opening as it comes available. Thank you for your patience.

Our monthly District of Kitimat newsletters are posted on social media and usually distributed to various locations around town, including the museum, library, Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex and Riverlodge Recreation Centre. Due to COVID-19, the July DOK newsletter will not be able to be distributed to all locations.

KUTE Closed Until Further Notice

July 8, 2020 – Kitimat Understanding the Environment (KUTE) is closed while they prepare for returning to normal operations. There is currently no re-opening date, however, updates will be provided as they come available.
Please refrain from dumping recyclables at the KUTE facility as it creates safety issues.
