Haisla Boulevard Lane Closure

November 6, 2020 – The east bound lane of Haisla Blvd. will be closed between Kuldo Blvd. and Lahakas Blvd. between 8:00am and mid-afternoon today. The closure is due to District of Kitimat crews erecting a directional sign pole near the Haisla Blvd. and Lahakas Blvd. intersection.

Traffic will be directed to alternative routes:

Travelling to City Center – Along Kuldo Blvd to Quatsino Blvd.Travelling out of town – Along Kuldo Blvd. to Nalabila Blvd.

October 29, 2020 – Please be advised that on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 the Kitimat municipal cemetery will be closed from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to the public for maintenance.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

KITIMAT, BC – Effective at 1:30 p.m., October 28, 2020, the District of Kitimat water system is under a Water Quality Advisory. Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.

All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of this Water Quality Advisory.

A Water Quality Advisory is being issued to all users of the Kitimat Community Water System due to elevated turbidity levels in the source water...

HIGH STREAMFLOW ADVISORY

October 26, 2020 – The Provincial River Forecast Centre has issued a “High Streamflow Advisory” for the Kitimat valley. A combination of rising temperatures and heavy rainfall is expected later tonight and tomorrow which may cause water levels in the Kitimat River to rise. The Kitimat River can rise quickly and without warning. The public is advised to use extreme caution if engaged in activities near the river.
