Leisure Pool Re-Opened

OCTOBER 9, 2020 – The leisure pool at the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre is re-open to the public and the overall capacity of the aquatic centre has returned to 40 patrons.

Leisure Pool Closed
OCTOBER 5, 2020 - Due to a mechanical malfunction, the leisure pool is closed. An update on status of the pool will be provided be end of day on Friday, October 9th. The main swimming pool and hot tub remain open to the public. During this time overall aquatic centre capacity has been reduced to 25 patrons at a time.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Coastal GasLink statement regarding Kitimat River Flooding

The following statement has been issued by Coastal GasLink:
"Coastal GasLink has environmental specialists on site actively responding to flooding of the Kitimat River which has affected an adjacent work site. The flood waters have significantly receded and construction crews are working to repair bridge crossing for access and clean-up of debris.
An initial assessment of the site indicates that equipment remains intact and there are no visible hydrocarbon sheens at the location of the flooding....

Water Quality Advisory

KITIMAT, BC – Effective at noon, September 29, 2020, the District of Kitimat water system is under a Water Quality Advisory. Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.
All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of this Water Quality Advisory.
