July 8, 2020 – Kitimat Understanding the Environment (KUTE) is closed while they prepare for returning to normal operations. There is currently no re-opening date, however, updates will be provided as they come available.

Please refrain from dumping recyclables at the KUTE facility as it creates safety issues.

June 29, 2020 – The District of Kitimat will be doing some water main flushing around town over the next few days and some residents may experience discoloured water. The water is still safe to drink. If you are experiencing this, please turn on your taps and run until the water is clear.

FRAUDULENT EMAILS IN KITIMAT

June 19, 2020 – The District of Kitimat is aware of fraudulent emails being spammed around the community. There have been incidents of emails attempting to impersonate District representatives. These have been reported to the proper authorities.

Please be diligent in ensuring emails are from credible sources. There are many known incidents of fraudsters trying to take advantage of cyber vulnerabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
