Inspection work taking place on Haisla Bridge will mean single lane, alternating traffic on January 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

No extended New Years Eve transit in Kitimat

Although we were looking forward to the first New Years Eve transit service since 2019, due to operational challenges in offering a special evening bus service there will not be free and extended transit service for December 31 and the early hours of January 1.

The District of Kitimat and BC Transit tried hard to make it work, and while drivers were available we could not secure on board security. Since it is important that transit operators have as safe a trip as the passengers, we cannot offer...

Delays with curbside collection, December 27

Regarding curbside waste collection for Tuesday, December 27, because of the icy streets expect delays with your pick-up but collection is still happening.

To make life easier for the collectors we do request you not park vehicles on the roads as well. Thank you very much for your patience!
