April 3, 2020 - The District of Kitimat and the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce are seeking three volunteers from the local business community to join the new Kitimat Economic Recovery Taskforce. Selected candidates will join other designated community leaders to comprise an eight member team, which will aim to facilitate local economic recovery in the wake of Coronavirus. The Taskforce partners are seeking one member from each of the following business sectors:

Open Burning Restrictions Issued

March 30, 2020 – The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with provincial public health partners has issued open burning restrictions for all High Smoke Sensitivity Zones across the province until Wednesday April 15th, 2020. Kitimat is subject to these areas, and is cooperating with these restrictions.
