January 11, 2021 – Work is being conducted on the Haisla Bridge today between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Traffic will be limited to one lane during this time.

Minette Bay West Park Closed

January 7, 2021 – Effective immediately, Minette Bay West Park is closed to the public due to subdivision construction impacting park access through Strawberry Meadows.
The closure is expected to last into early spring. A re-opening date will be provided when available.

December 30, 2020 – The District of Kitimat and municipal employees represented by Unifor 2300 have ratified a new collective agreement. The four-year deal is from January 1, 2021 and expires December 31, 2024.

Free New Year's Eve Public Transit During Regular Service Hours

December 29, 2020 - The District of Kitimat and BC Transit will be offering free transit on December 31st during regular service hours which end 10:00 p.m. Extended New Year’s Eve service hours will not be available this year.
