Kitimat Campground Facilities Closed due to COVID-19

April 16, 2020 – Hirsch Creek Park and Radley Park will not be open for camping until at least May 31, 2020.
This action aligns with federal and provincial directives on camping and encourages people to stay home to reduce COVID-19 transmission risk.

Barricades Removed from Dyke Road

April 14, 2020 – The barricades that were installed off of Dyke Road, on April 9, 2020, to prevent vehicular travel to the riverbank have been removed. Vehicles are now able to access the riverbanks; however, these areas will be monitored to ensure that physical distancing is being practiced at all times.
The public is reminded to practice physical distancing at all times when recreating outdoors in the District of Kitimat.

Barricades Installed on Dyke Road

April 9, 2020 - Due to COVID-19 congestion concerns, barricades have been installed off of Dyke Road to prevent vehicles from travelling to the riverbank. Pedestrians are still allowed to access trails and the riverbank. The public is reminded to practice physical distancing at all times when recreating outdoors in the District of Kitimat.
