Upcoming paving will mean some traffic disruptions around Kitimat's downtown. From September 22 and September 27, during the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., the southbound lane of Lahakas Boulevard, between Albatross Avenue and Haisla Boulevard, will be closed. Aquatic Centre maintenance extending to October 11 Due to a delay in the availability of some mechanical parts, the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre's annual maintenance has been extended. We anticipate re-opening to the public at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11. We appreciate your patience as we finish up this important work.

District of Kitimat facilities will be closed on Monday, September 19, 2022 to observe the National Day of Mourning in recognition of the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II.

Water disruption to Service Centre

Update, 6:35 p.m., September 2:

We're happy to say the water repair has finished. Water is restored to the Service Centre.

It's possible water in the Service Centre and potentially some other areas in town might experience discoloured water relating to this repair. Please run your taps for a few minutes and the water should clear up. Thank you again for your patience.
