The District of Kitimat continues to diligently monitor COVID-19 developments. As facilities begin to resume operations, proactive measures continue to be utilized to minimize potential transmission of COVID-19. See attached document for the current impacts to municipal facility operations.

Our monthly District of Kitimat newsletters are posted on social media and usually distributed to various locations around town, including the museum, library, Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex and Riverlodge Recreation Centre. Due to COVID-19, the August DOK newsletter will be distributed to some – but may not be available at all locations.

August 12, 2020 – Due to complaints regarding emissions from a controlled burn at the landfill, burning has ceased as of 12:30 p.m. today.

SEWER LINE FLUSHING AND CAMERA WORK
August 12, 2020 – The District of Kitimat is currently undergoing sewer line flushing and camera work in the Whitesail, Nechako and City Centre neighborhoods.
Please try to keep your toilets flushed and their lids closed during this time. There is potential that the high pressure flushing could impact the standing water in households. If you smell a sewer odour, it can be eliminated by flushing your toilets and running water in all your drains....
