Love Kitimat Trade Show

Come on down to the Love Kitimat trade show at City Centre Mall this Friday night, November 23rd, to check out Kitimat's small, independent businesses and enjoy some good food, live music, and more. Bring the kids; we'll have face painting, cotton candy, and the bouncy castle.

The Love Kitimat program is part of the Love Northern BC initiative to support small, independent businesses in northern BC.

Tamitik Arena Closed for Repairs - Update

November 19, 2018 – Please be advised that due to a mechanical issue, the Tamitik Arena will remain closed until further notice. 

The District of Kitimat is currently assessing the issue; updates will be provided by 12pm tomorrow.

November 17, 2018 – Please be advised that due to a mechanical issue, the Tamitik Arena will be closed until further notice.  Regular scheduled Tamitik Arena programming will be accommodated at the Kitimat Ice Rink (KIR). The Kitimat Ice Demons Game scheduled for today has been cancelled due to this closure.

The District of Kitimat is currently assessing the issue; updates will be provided by 12pm Tuesday.

KITIMAT, BC – There was a chemical related incident at the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre today at approximately 8:45pm. No patrons were in the facility at the time of the incident, and all staff are accounted as safe and unharmed.

It is anticipated that regular scheduled programming will resume at the Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre tomorrow (November 17, 2018). An update will be provided on the District of Kitimat’s website and official Facebook page by 12pm tomorrow.
