Kitimat Business Bootcamp series to support local businesses

Addressing local business’s biggest challenges will be the theme of an upcoming Kitimat Business Bootcamp series.

This series is a joint collaboration of the District of Kitimat and Kitimat Chamber of Commerce, and is being sponsored by LNG Canada and Rio Tinto.

The sessions – the first taking place on April 24 - will address key topics affecting local businesses including:

  • Temporary Foreign Workers (April 24)
  • Succession Planning (May 3)
  • Grants and External Funding (May 10)
  • Housing Supports (May 17)

Kiddie Pool at Aquatic Centre temporarily closed until April 14

We're sorry to say that due to a fecal matter incident, the kiddie pool section of our Aquatic Centre will be closed until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14.

We appreciate your patience while we get things cleaned up.

Since we're on the subject, a few points to keep the pool safe and clean for everyone:

- Children who are still toilet training or other patrons who may have challenges with bodily control must wear swim diapers or elastic swim pants under their swim clothing

Easter Long Weekend Hours 2023

All District of Kitimat offices and facilities will be closed on April 7 and on April 10 to mark the Good Friday and Easter Monday statutory holidays. Riverlodge and Tamitik Sports Complex, which includes the Aquatic Centre, will be open for regular hours on April 8 and 9. Need to book ice time on the days we’re closed?
