POTENTIAL FOR DISCOLOURED WATER IN KILDALA FOR MAY 3 Areas of the Kildala neighbourhood may experience water discolouration this afternoon, due to a water line repair which took place earlier today. District crews are expecting to resolve this issue by 5:00 p.m. If you are experiencing discoloured water, please run your taps until water becomes clear. Thank you

Today, flags in the District of Kitimat are half-mast, in honour of the Day of Mourning. This is a day to think of persons who have been killed or injured in the workplace, and to reflect on workplace health and safety.

EMERGENCY ALERT TEST TO MARK EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WEEK

 

Kitimat BC, April 21, 2022 — The District of Kitimat will be using Emergency Preparedness Week to encourage residents to be informed and ready to act in the case of an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness Week runs May 1 to 7, and the District will use the occasion to send a test alert of its emergency notification system, scheduled for May 3 at 11:00 a.m.

UPDATE:  (3:16 PM)  Water line repair work has been completed on Okanagan Street. Water services and traffic to the street has now been restored. Thank you for your patience.  UNPLANNED WATER AND TRAFFIC DISRUPTION ON OKANAGAN STREET Due to an unplanned water line repair, Okanagan Street is closed to traffic and water is currently turned off, as of 12:00 p.m. on April 20. Work may take a number of hours to complete. We will update this post with more information...
