UPDATED PROOF OF VACCINATION AT RECREATION FACILITIES November 5, 2021- The current Provincial Health Order (PHO) contains proof of vaccine requirements that are now in effect for all recreation facilities. As a result, the Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex and Riverlodge Recreation Centre require that your BC Vaccine Card shows proof of two doses of Covid-19 vaccination for some activities. Ammonia Leak Drill 2021

November 2, 2021 – To ensure public and worker safety, the District of Kitimat and Kitimat Fire and Ambulance Service will be conducting an ammonia leak drill at the Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex on Wednesday, November 3, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The District of Kitimat and other emergency response agencies will be treating this drill as an actual leak event. Response personnel will be wearing hazmat suits and simulated evacuation of the arenas and the pool will take place.

Boil Water Notice downgraded to Water Quality Advisory

The Boil Water Notice, originally issued on February 4, 2026, is now downgraded back to a Water Quality Advisory.
Northern Health recommends that children, persons who are pregnant, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.
All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of this Water Quality Advisory.
