Notes from Council, February 24, 2025:

  • Council received a presentation on the Development Approvals Process – Gap Analysis. This report is part of a process funded by a grant from the Union of BC Municipalities. The gap analysis report identifies key findings that may help improve the District of Kitimat’s approvals process for developments. In the coming months a full report will be prepared and presented for Council’s review.

We have launched a communications survey on our Get Involved Kitimat page.

  • Council passed first and second reading of the C4 Local Store Zoning amendment. This is a bylaw amendment for 1442 Nalabila Boulevard which, once passed, will allow for an additional restaurant business to operate within the allowable 225 square metres of commercial floor space as well as increase the maximum amount of living units from one to two.
