August 27, 2021 – The community is being warned of a risk to smoke exposure impacts due to a structural fire at the Kuldo Apartments.
Anyone experiencing breathing complications is advised to close their windows and stay inside.
Anyone experiencing severe breathing complications, please call 911 or go to the emergency reception at the Kitimat Hospital.
Anyone requiring shelter, including shelter from smoke exposure, should go to the Emergency Reception Centre that has been activated at Riverlodge.

Masks Mandatory in Municipal Facilities Again

August 24, 2021 – By order of the Provincial Health Officer, starting on Wednesday, August 25, all visitors to municipal facilities must wear masks while in indoor public spaces. Employees and visitors who are 12 and over who are not wearing masks will be denied entry and/or asked to leave the facility regardless of their vaccination status.
There are exemptions for:
- People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive, or mental impairments who cannot wear one
- People who cannot remove a mask...
