OPEN FIRE PROHIBITIONS LIFTED
September 7, 2021 – Effective today at 12:00 p.m., Category 2 and Category 3 fires are now permitted within the District of Kitimat. Please continue to exercise caution with any outdoor burning and campfire use.

Municipal Campgrounds Closing October 4th

September 3, 2021 – The Radley Park Campground and Hirsch Creek Park Campground will be closing for the season as of Monday October 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Camping will not be permitted in these parks after this time.
We thank everyone for a great season and look forward to welcoming you back next year.

Orange Flag Raised in Recognition of Truth and Reconciliation

September 1, 2021 – The District of Kitimat will raise an orange flag at the Kitimat Fire Hall in recognition of truth and reconciliation. As directed through District of Kitimat Council resolution, the flag will remain up for the entire month of September. The flag will be lowered following the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
