Haisla Bridge Repairs and Traffic Interruption

May 14, 2021 – District of Kitimat crews will be conducting work on the
Haisla Bridge between Monday, May 17 and Friday May 21.
This work will result in one lane alternating traffic between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Public Notice - Downtown Traffic Impacts

May 5, 2021 – The District of Kitimat is conducting traffic light maintenance today, May 5, 2021, at two intersections.
Impacted intersections are:
1) Haisla/Lahakas intersection 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
2) Kuldo/Haisla intersection 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Please expect traffic impacts including delays and potential re-routing. Please obey all signage and flagging personnel during this time.

Water Disruption in Service Centre

May 4, 2021 – On Wednesday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m., the water in Service Centre will be turned off for water system repairs. It is anticipated that the work will be completed by 5:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Some users may experience discoloured water the following day. If you are experiencing this, please turn on your taps and run until the water is clear. If water discolouration continues call 250-632-8930.

Travel Restriction Impacts on Kitimat Campground Reservations

APRIL 28, 2021 – In accordance with province-wide restrictions to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and variants, all non-essential travel between health regions in British Columbia is now prohibited until at least May 24. Travel within the Northern Health and Interior Health Authority regions in which Kitimat belongs is still permitted.
We will be contacting those from outside of the regions who have reserved a campsite for before May 24 to issue a refund or adjust their booking.
