September 20, 2021 – Please continue to expect single lane alternating traffic along Haisla Blvd. between Haisla Bridge and the Kuldo/Haisla intersection. Crews will be working from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until September 23, 2021.

September 17, 2021 – On Monday, September 20, 2021, public transit within the District of Kitimat will be free. BC Transit’s program is intended to make it easier for people to vote in the federal election.

The District of Kitimat recognizes and commemorates Firefighters’ National Memorial Day on September 12, 2021.
This day recognizes firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the Kitimat Fire and Ambulance Service for the work that they do for our community.

OPEN FIRE PROHIBITIONS LIFTED
September 7, 2021 – Effective today at 12:00 p.m., Category 2 and Category 3 fires are now permitted within the District of Kitimat. Please continue to exercise caution with any outdoor burning and campfire use.
