WATER QUALITY ADVISORY

KITIMAT, BC – Effective today, September 22, 2021, the District of Kitimat water system is under a Water Quality Advisory. Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.

All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of this Water Quality Advisory.

A Water Quality Advisory is being issued to all users of the Kitimat Community Water System due to elevated turbidity levels...

HIGH RIVER LEVELS – RADLEY AND HIRSCH CREEK PARKS CLOSED

September 21, 2021 – Due to rising river levels and the potential of flooding, Radley Park and Hirsch Creek Park are temporarily closed until further notice. Campers are being directed to stay at the Riverlodge parking lot for the time being.

The water levels can change quickly with little warning. Additionally, high water levels can cause riverbanks to erode creating unstable ground next to the river. Take caution when approaching the Kitimat...

HAISLA BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION

September 20, 2021 – Please continue to expect single lane alternating traffic along Haisla Blvd. between Haisla Bridge and the Kuldo/Haisla intersection. Crews will be working from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until September 23, 2021.

The District of Kitimat recognizes and commemorates Firefighters’ National Memorial Day on September 12, 2021.

This day recognizes firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the Kitimat Fire and Ambulance Service for the work that they do for our community.
