Public Works Communications Temporarily Offline (June 9)

June 8, 2021 – There will be a planned power outage at the District of Kitimat Public Works building on Wednesday, June 9th. The power outage will shut down the department’s phone and email communication systems during most of the business day.
If you need to communicate with the Public Works department on June 9th, please contact District of Kitimat’s Municipal Hall at 250-632-8900 or dok@kitimat.ca.

June 04, 2021 – The District of Kitimat is currently undergoing sewer line flushing and camera work in the Whitesail and Nechako neighborhoods. Work will start today, June 4, and is expected to be completed by June 11.

KITIMAT, BC – Effective today, June 2, 2021, the District of Kitimat water system is under a Water Quality Advisory. Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with weakened immune systems drink boiled water at this time.
All owners of public premises must make patrons aware of this Water Quality Advisory.

High River Levels - Radley and Hirsch Creek Parks Closed

June 1, 2021 – Due to rising river levels and the potential of flooding, Radley Park and Hirsch Creek Park are temporarily closed until further notice. Campers are being directed to stay at the Riverlodge parking lot for the time being.

KITIMAT TRAFFIC IMPACTS May 20, 2021 – The District of Kitimat will be conducting major road work (pot hole repair, milling and paving) from May 24 to June 10 in various areas around town.
