Travel Restriction Impacts on Kitimat Campground Reservations

APRIL 28, 2021 – In accordance with province-wide restrictions to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and variants, all non-essential travel between health regions in British Columbia is now prohibited until at least May 24. Travel within the Northern Health and Interior Health Authority regions in which Kitimat belongs is still permitted.
We will be contacting those from outside of the regions who have reserved a campsite for before May 24 to issue a refund or adjust their booking.

BEARS IN NECHAKO AREA
April 26, 2021 – There have been reports of grizzly bear(s) behind Lahakas Blvd. near Kitimat City High School in the Nechako neighborhood.
Please use caution in these areas and please leave the bear(s) alone. Do not stop or slow down to take pictures of the bears while driving.
It is an offence to feed or harass wildlife, and violators can face penalties under the Wildlife Act. The bear(s) has not demonstrated aggressive behavior at this time.

April 21, 2021 – The District of Kitimat is conducting road repairs today, April 21, 2021, between two intersections from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Impacted intersections are:
