Firefighters' National Memorial Day

The District of Kitimat recognizes and commemorates Firefighters’ National Memorial Day on September 12, 2021.
This day recognizes firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the Kitimat Fire and Ambulance Service for the work that they do for our community.

September 7, 2021 – From September 7-17, 2021 there will be single lane alternating traffic along Haisla Blvd. between Haisla Bridge and the Kuldo/Haisla intersection from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Open Fire Prohibitions Lifted

OPEN FIRE PROHIBITIONS LIFTED
September 7, 2021 – Effective today at 12:00 p.m., Category 2 and Category 3 fires are now permitted within the District of Kitimat. Please continue to exercise caution with any outdoor burning and campfire use.

Municipal Campgrounds Closing October 4th

September 3, 2021 – The Radley Park Campground and Hirsch Creek Park Campground will be closing for the season as of Monday October 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Camping will not be permitted in these parks after this time.
We thank everyone for a great season and look forward to welcoming you back next year.
