The District of Kitimat, in collaboration with the Haisla Nation, is welcoming artists from the Haisla Nation to submit their design(s) for a series of eight (8) lit line art panels for the new Haisla Bridge. The eight (8) selected designs are to be the eight (8) existing and historic Haisla Clans (Eagle, Beaver, Crow, Killer Whale, Wolf, Frog, Raven, Salmon). Temporary Reduction in Bus Service Due to a recent labour challenge, BC Transit is implementing a short-term reduced service schedule within the Kitimat Transit System. This adjusted service schedule means a short-term, minor reduction of service on the routes 1A, 1B, 2 and 3 on Fridays and Sundays, starting on Sunday, August 14th. Temporary water and traffic disruption on Oriole Street

Due to an emergency water repair, the south entrance to Oriole Street is temporarily closed the morning of August 5. Traffic is not impacted on Kingfisher Boulevard, and Oriole can still be accessed on the other end of the street. Water service is not anticipated to be disrupted on Oriole Street itself, but nearby apartment buildings along Kingfisher Boulevard might be impacted. Any water disruptions will be resolved as quickly as possible.

The link to the nomination package is available on our website at www.kitimat.ca/elections, and available at the District of Kitimat Municipal Office during regular business hours. Nomination documents will be accepted by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer during regular business hours at Kitimat Municipal Office starting at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 30, 2022 and until 4:00 p.m....
