Pot Hole Repairs

September 11, 2020 – Crews will be repairing potholes between the Haisla Bridge and Rio Tinto at these times:
From midnight Sunday, September 13 to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14From midnight Monday, September 14 to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15
There will be single lane, alternating traffic during these hours.

September 11, 2020 – On Monday, September 14th at 10:30 p.m., the water in Service Centre will be turned off for water system repairs until the following morning, September 15th at 6:00 a.m.
If you experience any cloudy water the following morning, run taps until the water is clear.
If you have any questions or concerns call Public Works at 250-632-8930.

The District of Kitimat will be re-opening the squash courts, fitness room and spin classes in Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex on September 14, 2020. Due to COVID-19, service and guidelines for use will be different than normal operations.

Planned Power Outage Sept 14 to Sept 15

August 28, 2020 – BC Hydro will be performing a planned power outage from 11:30 p.m. Monday, September 14 to approximately 6:00 a.m. September 15
The power will need to be turned off for about 6.5 hours to the communities of Kitimat and Kitamaat Village. Crews require the power to be off to allow them to safely perform upgrades within Minette Substation.
People are encouraged to turn off all appliances and electronics – especially portable electric heaters – during an outage. When power is restored,...
Bear Attractants in Kildala Neighborhood

August 28, 2020 – A black bear has been frequenting residential streets in the Kildala neighborhood.
The cause has been determined to be attractants such as non-properly stored garbage and non-maintained fruit trees. Conservation Officers have placed a bear trap in the neighborhood. Community bylaw and animal control services personnel will be conducting patrols throughout the community and ticketing anyone who is found to be in violation of District bylaws.
