High River Levels - Radley and Hirsch Creek Parks Closed

June 1, 2021 – Due to rising river levels and the potential of flooding, Radley Park and Hirsch Creek Park are temporarily closed until further notice. Campers are being directed to stay at the Riverlodge parking lot for the time being.
The water levels can change quickly with little warning. Additionally, high water levels can cause riverbanks to erode creating unstable ground next to the river. Take caution when approaching the Kitimat River and Hirsch Creek. Avoid the edge of the riverbank...

Traffic Impacts - pot hole repairs

KITIMAT TRAFFIC IMPACTS May 20, 2021 – The District of Kitimat will be conducting major road work (pot hole repair, milling and paving) from May 24 to June 10 in various areas around town. Please expect traffic impacts including delays and potential re-routing. Please obey all signage and flagging personnel during this time. Thank you for your patience.”

HOSPITAL BEACH WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN THIS MAY LONG WEEKEND MAY 21, 2021
THE TIDAL AREA REMAINS A CLOSED CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THE PUBLIC IS PROHIBITED FROM ENTERING THE TIDAL AREA.

Haisla Bridge Repairs and Traffic Interruption

May 14, 2021 – District of Kitimat crews will be conducting work on the
Haisla Bridge between Monday, May 17 and Friday May 21.
This work will result in one lane alternating traffic between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
