Bish Creek Wildfire Update #4

May 15, 2020 – The wildfire currently burning in two cut blocks off of the Bish Creek Forest Service Road remains classified as Being Held, and remains approximately 40 hectares in size with no recent growth. The perimeter of the fire is almost completely protected and it is anticipated that the fire will be re-classified to Under Control by tomorrow.

The BC Wildfire Service has a crew of approximately 50 – 55 firefighters working on extinguishing the fire. These crews will remain in place through the weekend.

There is presently no threat to the community.

Updates will be provided as needed. Please refrain from traveling to the Bish Creek area at this time. Please be fire safe over the long weekend.
