October 13, 2021 – By order of the Provincial Health Officer, all visitors to municipal facilities who are 5 years of age or older must wear masks while in indoor public spaces. Previously, the mask requirement was in place for people aged 9 years and older.


There are exemptions for:

  • People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive, or mental impairments who cannot wear one
  • People who cannot remove a mask on their own
  • Children under the age of 5
  • People who need to remove their masks to communicate due to another person's hearing impairment


Masks may be removed temporarily in indoor public places to:

  • Identify the individual wearing the mask
  • Consume food or beverage at a location designated for this purpose
  • Participate in a sport or fitness activity (masks must be worn when not engaged in physical activity)
