Temporary Patios for Commercial Businesses on Public Land

To support Kitimat's food and liquor serving premises adhere to the Covid-19 restrictions, Kitimat's businesses can now apply for a free permit for 2021 to set up a temporary patio on public lands. More information on the program is available here. 

Ready to apply? Please fill out the application and provide the requested documents and email the information to Planning or drop it off at City Centre, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. 

Business Facade Improvement Program

The District of Kitimat, in partnership with Northern Development Initiative Trust, is happy to provide incentiveBusiness Facade Improvement Program for existing or new businesses and non-profits to make improvements to their building's exterior.

The Business Façade Improvement Program aims to encourage exterior upgrades by providing grants for 50% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of $5,000.

Love Kitimat and Love Bucks

Are you an independent, non-franchise Kitimat business selling retail goods and services?

Love Kitimat Sign

Sign up to the Love Kitimat program and:

  • Get a web presence to help promote your business
  • Be eligible to accept Love Bucks from your customers
  • Be eligible to participate for free in our annual Plaid Friday and Focus Local events
  • Be notified of webinars and info sessions to help grow your business

Love Bucks

  • Love Bucks are similar to gift certificates Love Bucks $25
  • They are available to purchase from the District of Kitimat main office
  • They can be spent at any Love Kitimat business listed on the Love Kitimat website
  • Available in $25 denominations (other denominations are available with sufficient advance notice)
  • No credit is carried over
  • No expiry

Love Kitimat is part of Love Northern BC, a marketing program managed by Northern Development Initiative Trust out of Prince George.
