Indigenous Hiring Program |
The District of Kitimat encourages job seekers to note on their cover letters or application forms if they identify as Indigenous. With the support of Haisla Nation Council and Unifor Local 2300, the District received approval for a program that allows the District to give hiring preference to qualified job applicants who are Indigenous. This program has been approved until 2028. This program was approved through the BC Office of the Human Rights Commissioner. |
