Businesses encouraged to apply for tax exemption program

Local commercial building owners are encouraged to apply for the Commercial Centre Revitalization Tax Exemption program.

This program means that improvements to your commercial building could make the property eligible for a 50 per cent discount on the municipal property taxes for up to 10 years.

Improvements can include external improvements and improvements to a building’s energy efficiency.

This is a great complement to another program we administer, the Business Façade Improvement Program, which provides a reimbursement to eligible business owners, up to 50 per cent and a maximum of $5,000, which have improved their business’ exterior.
