The District of Kitimat is pleased to announce it has joined an online platform called Cloudpermit for building permits and inspections. You are now able to complete the entire building permit process online on your preference of phone, tablet, or laptop. We are excited to transition to this more convenient, efficient, transparent and paperless process!

To start, create your Cloudpermit account by visiting  https://ca.cloudpermit.com

Once registered, Cloudpermit gives you the ability to:

•  Apply for various building permits at any time, from anywhere.

•  Set notifications to your preferences and will be automatically emailed when your application status changes.

•  Log in and track your building permit throughout the review process and digitally sign for and download your building permit when it is approved.

•  Invoices will be clearly viewable within your account and your receipts can be printed off directly from there. (please note: no “online” payment method is yet available, usual payment methods still apply)

•  Communicate with your building department with time-stamped messages.

•  Request and submit changes to an existing building permit.  Upload all necessary or additionally requested information directly into your accounts specific permit application.

•  When your project is ready for an inspection you can send requests for a building inspector to arrange a time with you. Also you can access all building inspections notes, once entered, for your own records.

Some of you may already be familiar working within Cloupdpermit as other municipalities use this system, including our neighbours in Terrace.
